A Green Fingered Plant Killer

I don’t much care for flowers at a wedding. I think they’re expensive and they’re not something you get to keep after, so I’m not too bothered about having any. The thing is, if you don’t have flowers, then what do you do with your hands when you’re walking down the aisle? That goes for the bridesmaids too, and I wouldn’t want them to feel uncomfortable with awkward arms dangling at their sides. Our colour scheme was going to be red, white and blue, and so I decided that supermarket flowers, such as red roses, would be the answer. I could dress them up with string and lace and no one would ever know that it was a DIY job.
However, we recently had to rethink our colour scheme, when the reception venue we found was VERY green. We’re now going for green, lavender and gold, which means lavender flowers are a great option.
I had already started to grow some lavender for the garden, and I think pots of lavender around the venue would look great. Taking things further though, I’m now thinking about growing my own wedding flowers, and so I’ve frantically started another load of lavender seeds. I would like to add daisies to my bouquet too, and I plan on getting some daisy seeds this week.

My current lavender growing attempts
One very big problem is that I tend to kill plants. It’s like some sort of secret skill I have, and I don’t even know how I do it. I’ll be extra diligent with these flowers, which hopefully will have time to mature and bloom before next summer. If all else fails though, I will always be able to nip to the supermarket at the last minute.
