After Christmas, my Anonymous Groom and I got on with making and sending Save the Date information out to our guests. We just need to know who will be coming at this stage, and then a proper invitation with all of the information on will be sent out later.
Because our wedding has a village fete theme, we wanted to make invitations to suit, and so they have taken the form of tickets, printed in our wedding colours of green and lavender. Rather that paying out for invitations we decided to use our money to buy a printer and some nice paper to make our own. With a £10 voucher for Argos and a printer which was on sale, we paid just £40 for it. The 14 invitations were sealed with pretty stickers which we bought on a sheet. We're hoping to get RSVP replies by the end of the month, although getting replies for this sort of thing usually requires a bit of chasing up. The key is to set dates while also allowing time for late replies.
